What is a wobble cushion used for?
A wobble cushion is a small, round, inflatable cushion, sometimes called a disc cushion or instability cushion, that is strong enough to sit or stand. Shakes (unstable type) when sitting on an air mattress. The wobble cushion can be used in a chair or on the floor, and it encourages users to use their back and core muscles. The rocking pad is so strong that we can stand up to build core strength and practice balance.
Sitting on a wobble cushion is similar to sitting on a therapy ball, but is smaller, more portable, and more convenient than a therapy ball. The instability of the rocking pad engages the core muscles to improve posture and core stability. The rocking effect allows sensory-seeking children to focus on their sitting position, reducing fidgeting and helping to improve focus on the task at hand.
The wobble cushion has raised dimples on one side for extra sensory input, while the other side is smooth. Swinging cushions don't mean too comfortable! They are inherently unstable and a little uncomfortable, so sitting down is like a physical exercise - they're never as comfortable as slouching!
Sitting on a wobble cushion works your core muscles and helps improve core stability - so it's effective and exercise. But we also recommend not sitting on the wobble cushion all day - about half an hour at a time should suffice. Leave it on one side for a while, then use it again regularly throughout the day.
The cushions are also fun to stand up to, building muscle tone and helping with balance and concentration. Standing on two legs, standing on one leg, making tree shapes, etc... Be creative and have fun!

When choosing a wobble cushion, it is advisable to check that the seat is made of flexible PVC material that does not contain latex or phthalates. They have a small valve on the back so they can be easily inflated by blowing directly into the valve (they don't need much blowing) or using a bike pump or any other type of pump. The seat cushion can be inflated or inflated as needed. Don't over-inflate the cushion - it needs enough air to shake when you sit or stand on it.
